About "Koku"

The Reason Koku Was Born

As I was caught up in the daily rush of time, there was a moment when I suddenly stopped and asked myself, “What do I truly value?” It was then that I came across a house perched on a hill in Shuzenji. As I listened to the sound of the wind and watched the light shift, I felt my heart grow light.

“Koku” is a place born from our own experiences. It is not a vacation home meant for show, but a hideaway where you can rediscover your true self. We hope that the time you spend here will serve as a “breathing space” for our guests, allowing you to start walking your own path again tomorrow.

The Meaning Behind the Name “Toki”

We have imbued the facility’s name, “Koku,” with two meanings.

One is the hope that you will carefully cherish the “irreplaceable moments” you spend here. The other is the hope that you will step away from the hustle and bustle of the world, pause the hands of time, and feel a sense of “inner peace.”

Please come and experience the slow passage of time that characterizes this place.

What Shapes Time

We’d like to introduce the items we’ve carefully selected and the thoughts behind your stay.

    A Master Craftsman has applied a mottled pure silver finish to the brass casting using a special coloring technique. It possesses a dignified beauty that marks the passage of time with a sense of tranquility.

    HIBITO

    The rust-glazed trim evokes a sense of "Japanese tradition" while blending seamlessly into any setting. It embodies the wish to "be a part of your daily life."

    Understanding the owner’s vision, she captured the “time” that flows through this place and transformed it into a spatial design. She is the interior designer who helped bring SHUZENJI Toki to life.
